Wayne County Sheriff’s deputies were patrolling the area of Highway 111 North in the northern area of Wayne County on Thursday when they stopped to check on a stranded motorist. During the encounter, consent was given to search the vehicle. 26-year-old Sarah M. Bedard of Pikeville and 34-year-old Evelyn N. Tucker of Goldsboro were allegedly found in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Bedard and Tucker were arrested. The each received a $2,000 secured bond and were turned over to the Wayne County Detention Center for processing.
