Around 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the 700 block of E. New Hope Road in response to a shooting in the area. Upon arrival, Deputies found a vehicle in the ditch. A young male was located inside the vehicle suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was transported to Wayne UNC Health Care with life threatening injuries. At this time, deputies are currently searching for a dark, four door sedan that may have been involved in this incident.
