William Roger Tripp, 73, passed away on Friday, January 8, 2021 at Wayne UNC Health Care.
Roger was born in Lenoir County on November 18, 1947 to the late Buck and Gloria Tripp. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Roger was a valued employee of DuPont where he retired after over 30 years of service. Following his retirement, he enjoyed the opportunity to connect with friends at his business, Moore’s Private Club. Roger was a member of the Goldsboro Elks Lodge #139 B.P.O.E and the American Legion.
He had a huge heart, always giving and reaching out to others, there wasn’t a stranger he hadn’t met. He loved to make people laugh. Most would remember the joy that Roger’s presence would bring. Roger will always be remembered for his love of a good time as well as his true love of family, friends, life and work.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at the Snow Hill Cemetery in Snow Hill. The family will greet friends following the service at the cemetery. Attendees are asked to wear a face covering and practice social distancing.
Roger is survived by his wife, Melanie Herring Tripp; daughter, Kimberlea Tripp Vick and husband Thomas Allan and Michelle Hardison McArthur and husband Timothy; grandchildren, Elin Grace Vick, Mila Faith Vick, Jensen Brody McArthur; brothers, Jimmy Tripp, Michael Tripp, Timothy Tripp and Sean Tripp; and sisters, Deborah Tyndall, Donna Lee, Mary Jordan, Teresa Canipe, Barbara Elliott and Linda Tripp.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Tony Tripp.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given in his memory to Cures for the Colors, SMOC, 203 Cox Blvd., Goldsboro, NC 27534.
