According to the latest figures from the North Carolina Department of Commerce, Wayne County’s seasonally unadjusted jobless rate increased to 6.2 % in December, up one-tenth of a percentage point from November. An estimated 3,106 individuals in Wayne County were considered unemployed in December. Wayne County’s latest unemployment rate is also up from the 3.5% jobless rate recorded in the county in December of 2019.
Unemployment rates increased in 55 of North Carolina’s 100 counties in December.
North Carolina’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 6.2% in December, unchanged from November’s revised rate and up 2.6 percentage points from the rate recorded in December of 2019.
