The City of Goldsboro continues to wait for its latest financial review.
City Manager Tim Salmon informed the Goldsboro City Council that the 2018-2019 audit was not yet complete and has not been submitted to the state yet.
According to Salmon, the auditors are currently working with the city’s Finance Department to work through some prior period adjustments.
When asked if the audit could be completed before the February 15th Council meeting, Salmon said it was possible.
The accounting firm Dixon, Hughes, Goodman, LLP is working on the city’s 2018-2019 Fiscal Year audit.
The delayed audit has resulted in the city losing its bond rating, harming Goldsboro’s ability to borrow money.
