Mr. Kenneth Roland “Smutt” Warren, age 90, of Faison, passed away Saturday, February 6, 2021 at the home in which he had lived for the last 86 years.
He had served in the United States Air Force, was a retired farmer, and was a long time member of Faison United Methodist Church.
Mr. Warren is survived by his wife, Evelyn Hines Warren, the lady he first met as a first-grade young girl classmate at the old Faison School; their four children and spouses, Kenneth Roland Warren, Jr. and Gail Warren, of Faison, Joe Travis and Peggy Warren of Greenville, Peggy and Carlton Cashwell of Mount Olive, and Karen and Tom Newman of Grantsboro; a sister, Ann Matthews of Faison; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
His parents, John Wesley Warren, Sr. and Effie Catherine Lane Warren, preceded him in death as did brothers, John W. Warren, Jr., Bill Warren, Carlton Warren; and sisters, Hazel W. Rackley and Grace W. Walton.
The Warren family will receive friends at Faison United Methodist Church on Tuesday, February 9, beginning at 10:00 a.m. with funeral services to follow at 11:00 a.m., led by the Rev. Jabe Largen, followed by burial in the Faison Cemetery. The family also welcomes others to join them at the family home.
