Emergency responders had to pull a vehicle from a creek near the Wayne-Duplin County line Friday morning. The car had run off Kelly Springs Road and was completely submerged by the time rescue crews arrived. The driver managed to get out of the vehicle and was found standing on a small island in the middle of the creek. The Arr-Mac Water Rescue Team responded and launched a raft to retrieve the driver. Kelly Springs Road had to be shut down while the rescue took place. The accident is being investigated by the State Highway Patrol. The driver is expected to be charged with No Driver’s License and Safe Movement Violation.
