Carlton Rose Edmundson, 91, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, February 21, 2021 surrounded by his family.

Rose was raised in Wayne County by the Lantice Hill family whom he loved as his own. He always enjoyed being with the Hill family for all of their family gatherings. Rose was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Nora Ann Smith Edmundson.

Rose served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a man that got the simple pleasure of working the land as a farmer.

He was a long-time member of Woods Grove Church where he faithfully sang in the choir. For many years, Rose and his wife assisted in the television ministry of the Message of New Beginnings.

A service to celebrate his life will be held by the graveside on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in Wayne Memorial Park with Rev. Barry Teague officiating. The family will greet friends immediately following the service at the cemetery. Attendees are asked to wear a face mask and to practice social distancing.

Rose is survived by his son, Dean Edmundson and wife Carolyn; daughter, Jan Butts and husband Tim; grandchildren, Justin Butts and wife Jessica, Brett Butts, and Taylor Edmundson; and great-grandchildren, Cannady Rose Butts and Tallulah Grace Butts.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his sister, Ada Combs.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in his memory to Woods Grove P.F.W.B. Church, 4009 Central Heights Road, Goldsboro, NC 27534.
