Martin Junior Oates was born August 11, 1950 in Wayne County to the late Lorenzo Oates and Rena Mae Ruffin Oates. He passed from labor to reward on Friday, February 19, 2021 at Vidant Medical Center, Greenville, NC.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories four sisters, Mother Blonnie Mae Oates Broadhurst, Goldsboro, NC, Mother Nora Jean Oates Edwards (Edmond Sr), Goldsboro, NC, Sis. Dorothy Marie Oates Elliott, Washington, DC, and Elder Iris Jean Oates Argroe (Arthur), Goldsboro, NC; two daughters Rena Coley Bradshaw, Fayetteville, NC and Martina, Washington, DC; 8 grandchildren; one aunt, Dwendle McClain; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Graveside services will be held Saturday at 11 AM in Evergreen Memorial Park.

Visitation will be held Friday from 2 PM – 5 PM at Haskins Funeral Home.
