Sheriff’s Office Seeks Chase Suspect In Lenoir County

Authorities are searching for a suspect involved in a lengthy police pursuit.

The chase began Monday afternoon in Johnston County as the suspects led authorities on the pursuit through Johnston, Wayne, Greene and Lenoir counties.  The driver was wanted by the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office.  The suspect vehicle ran out of fuel on Felix Harvey Parkway in Lenoir County around 5:30 PM, and the driver and passenger fled on foot.

Lenoir County Deputies with the assistance of Kinston Police Department, Wilson County Sheriff’s Office, Greenville Police Department, NCSBI and Lenoir County Emergency Services searched wooded areas searching for the suspects.

One of the vehicle occupants was located near Felix Harvey Parkway during the search. The search that included numerous manpower, canines and drones was called off after 1:00 am Tuesday morning.
The second suspect was not apprehended and the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office asks anyone who sees him to immediately call 911. The wooded area in question is near Felix Harvey Parkway, Crestview Subdivision and Hickory Hills Road.

The wanted suspect is 29-year-old Kenneth Earl Piper of Wilson. He is a white male, 6 feet tall, 160 pounds with brown dread locks and tattoos on his face above his eyebrows.

Piper active felony warrants for possession with intent to sell, manufacture, deliver methamphetamine, possession of LSD and resisting arrest. Other charges are pending from the chase on this date.
