Jean Johnson Williford, 91, passed away on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at Wayne UNC Health Care.

Jean was born in Johnston County on November 27, 1929 to the late W. Leon and Alice Gordon Johnson. She was married to the late Moses Donald Williford. Jean had worked as a sales associate with Leder’s Department Store and with Belk Tyler in Goldsboro. She was a member of Madison Avenue Baptist Church.

A private graveside service for the family will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2021 in Wayne Memorial Park, with Rev. Al Marguerat, officiating.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Kim and Al Marguerat of Raleigh and Renee and Scott Rutherford of Geary, OK; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Teresa Williford of Goldsboro; sister, Bette Daughtry of Smithfield; grandchildren, Scott Marguerat (Marta), Alyson Marguerat, Timothy Rutherford (Hillary), Brandon Rutherford, and Lauren W. Worthy (Bernard); her great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews she loved very much.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Lynn Statkus and brother, Bill Johnson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in her memory to the building fund at Madison Avenue Baptist Church, 300 S. Madison Avenue, Goldsboro, NC 27530.
