Around 2:30 PM on Wednesday, the Kinston Police Department responded to UNC Lenoir in regards to a person who had been shot. Upon arrival officers found a 26-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper leg. This incident is believed to have occurred on the 700 block of Dixon Street. The KPD is working diligently to identify the perpetrator(s) of this crime.
