Anthony John Harris, 54, of Smithfield passed away on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at UNC Rex Health Care in Raleigh. He was born in Lancashire, England on December 17, 1966 to John Major Harris and Cynthia Joan Dennis Harris.

The family will receive friends on Monday, March 15, 2021 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm in the chapel of Casey Funeral Home and Cremations, 105 E. 1st Street, Princeton, NC 27569

Anthony passed peacefully surrounded by his wife, parents and brother. He came into this world early and unfortunately for all of us who knew and loved him, he left us before we were ready to say goodbye. Anthony was intelligent, funny, compassionate and caring. His passion for teaching and practicing nuclear medicine fostered deep admiration from students and the people whose lives he touched. Although he never had children of his own, he was a great parent to his stepchildren, Lily, Grady and Cameron. Through all his accomplishments and acts of kindness, the world was a better place with him in it. He will be deeply missed and forever loved. Among many things, he loved flyfishing, great music and Notre Dame football. Go IRISH!

In addition to his parents, he is survived by wife, Bonnie Marie Burnham Harris; stepchildren, Lily, Grady and Cameron; brother, David Harris and fiance’, Stacie Marie Holmes.
