Around 3:30 AM on Sunday, the Kinston P.D. responded to the 2200 block of Old Snow Hill Road for reports of shots fired. While responding to the area, officers were advised that two gunshot victims had shown up at UNC Lenoir.

Officers arrived at the hospital and found emergency personnel actively working on both individuals. The first victim, 36-year-old Jerome Gadson of Kinston died as a result of his injuries. The second victim, a 36 year old male, was later transported to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.
