The City of Goldsboro is operating without it’s mayor.

At Monday’s Goldsboro City Council meeting, Mayor Pro Tem David Ham announced that Mayor Chuck Allen would be taking a leave of absence due to doctor’s orders.

Ham says the council wishes the mayor well, and he noted Allen has served the city for 21-plus years while also running a business and raising a family in Goldsboro.

There was no further information given on Mayor Allen’s condition including how long his absence would last.
