A new traffic pattern is coming to the intersection of Big Daddy’s and Lancaster roads in Wayne County.
The N.C. Department of Transportation is scheduled to convert this location into an all-way stop on Wednesday, March 24. The work will begin around 8 a.m. and be completed by early afternoon. The work is weather-dependent.
The project will entail installing additional stops signs, adding “stop ahead” yellow warning signs with flags, and placing pavement markings.
Drivers should slow down, obey workers controlling traffic and proceed through the intersection with caution during its reconstruction.
All-way stop signs have reduced crashes involving fatalities and serious injuries in North Carolina on average by 77%.
People can visit the department’s all-way stop page to learn more information, including what to do when encountering one.
