Sadie Bass Edmundson, 79, passed away Friday, March 26, 2021 at Wayne UNC Health Care. Born in Johnston County on June 19, 1941, she was the daughter of the late John Daniel Bass and Eula Mae Casey Bass. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Billy Ray Edmundson, Sr.; daughter, Suzanne Jeffers; grandson, Paul Newsome, III; and siblings, Patricia Garris, Rosa Kornegay, James Bass, and Bett Eason.
Sadie is survived by her sons, Bobby Edmundson and wife Carmen of Clinton and Billy Ray Edmundson, Jr. and wife Anne of Pikeville; daughter, Barbara Rose Cruse and husband Rob of Princeton; brother, Bill Bass of South Carolina; seven grandchildren, Bobbie Jean Seagle, John Edmundson, Daniel Jeffers, Matthew Jeffers, Jeffrey Edmundson, Jennifer Edmundson, and Amanda Edmundson; and three great-grandchildren, Isabella Edmundson, Hailey Edmundson, and Dawson Peaden.
Sadie had worked for many years at Sunrise Laundry in Goldsboro.
Sadie had a larger-than-life personality and loved being around her family and friends. Her grandchildren were the light of her life and she relished in the opportunity to dote over them. Sadie enjoyed going to the racetrack and loved to fish. She loved to read and could often be found with a magazine or book in hand.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 29, 2021 at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by a service to celebrate her life at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel with Rev. Andy Stovall officiating. Interment will follow in the Princeton Cemetery.
