A handful of area soccer players were selected to the N.C. Soccer Coaches Association all-region teams earlier this week.

Gavin Davis, Ashton Fields, Reece Gery, Benjamin Peacock and Aaron Zamora were selected to the all-region 5 team.

While Spring Creek’s Jonah Velasquez-Perez, Josue Sanchez Inestroza and Edgar Librado Victoriano Apolonino were named to the all-region 6 team.

Rosewood finished the season with a 9-4-1 overall record, a 6-2 record in the Carolina 1A Conference, and reached the third round of the NCHSAA 1A playoffs for the second straight season.

Zamora scored a team-high 12 goals, while Gery had a team-high 12 assists and scored eight goals.

For Spring Creek, Sanchez Inestroza scored 14 goals, and Velasquez-Perez finished the season with four goals.
