Two teenagers lead police on a chase that ends with a bang in Goldsboro. On Tuesday, April 6th, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a vehicle that had been stolen in the Buck Swamp and Salem Church Road area. Financial transaction cards were also stolen as part of the theft. Shortly afterwards, a suspect attempted to use one of the stolen credit cards at Walmart in Goldsboro, The Goldsboro P.D. responded and the suspects fled the scene in a vehicle reported stolen out of Virginia. The pursuit ended when the suspect vehicle struck a tree near the Willow Run subdivision. During the investigation, the vehicle stolen from the Buck Swamp/Salem Church Road area was recovered in the area of Vanderbilt Circle. The 14 and 16-year-old suspects were charged with Juvenile Petitions for:
- Felony Larceny of Motor Vehicle,
- Felony Possession of Stolen Goods/Property
- Felony Breaking and/or Entering Motor Vehicle
- Felony Larceny
- Felony Financial Card Theft
The Goldsboro Police Deptartment and the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office worked these cases as a joint investigation. As this investigation continues, additional charges are possible.
