Farmers across Wayne County and the surrounding area have been working hard over the past week to get their fields ready for their 2021 crops.  Jacob Odom was getting watermelon rows ready for planting last week.  His field is located off 111 South in Duplin County.  Elsewhere, John Daniel Ivey and his father Rouse Ivey has workers in the fields planting corn off Highway 403 near the Wayne-Duplin county line on Friday.
