Around 4:30 PM on Monday, the Kinston Police Department responded the report of a person being shot at the corner of Davis Street and Shine Street.  The officers found a 26-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound.  The victim was transported to Vidant Medical Center.  The KPD says the investigation into the shooting is currently ongoing.
