Bobby Lee Evans, 78, passed away Sunday, May 2, 2021 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. Born in Johnston County on July 13, 1942, he was the son of the late Ersel Lee Evans and Lula Ingram Evans. He was the husband of the late Ann Lancaster Evans who preceded him in death on March 25, 2021.

Bobby retired from Georgia-Pacific after more than 30 years of dedicated service in sales. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Bobby was an avid fisherman. His greatest joy was found in taking his family members fishing, Bobby’s face would light up in childlike fashion when you caught a fish.

Bobby will lie in state from 1:00-5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at Seymour Funeral Home. A graveside service to celebrate Bobby’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at Wayne Memorial Park. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery. The family respectfully requests those attending the service wear a face covering and practice social distancing measures.

Bobby is survived by his son, David Evans of Stafford, VA; step-daughters, Teresa Walker and husband, Garth of Oak Island and Sandra Hooker of Gibsonville; and eight grandchildren.
