Mrs. Joan M. Atkinson, 76, passed on Monday, May 10, 2021 at home surrounded by her loving family. The celebration of her life will be held on Monday, May 17, 2021 at 12:00 Noon with a viewing from 11:00am to 11:50am at Goldsboro Raleigh District Assembly, 211 W. Hooks River Road, Goldsboro, NC. She will be laid to rest at the Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, 164 Longs Plant Farm Road, Goldsboro, NC.

She was born on September 2, 1944 in Shelby, NC to S.K. Mack and Ellen Newton Mack. She is survived by her husband, Raymond “June” Atkinson and her children: Rayvetta Outlaw (Kamal), Ray-Mond Atkinson, Terrill Atkinson and Curt Bryant; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
