June 7, 2021, 63, Goldsboro –
William Glen Powell, 63, passed away on Monday, June 7, 2021 at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh.
Glen was born in Washington, DC on November 10, 1957 to Sandra Felker Powell and the late Bud Powell. He was a valued employee for 29 years with Carolina Power and Light Company, now Progress Energy.
Glen was a true sportsman, most comfortable outdoors, on the water or in the woods. He was a hunter of big and small game and loved walking in the woods and fields with a gun and one of his dogs he had trained. Glen was a member of the Big Buck Hunting Club and served as their president. He also enjoyed being in the garden as was often shown through the bounty of vegetables he shared with others.
Most importantly to Glen was his family. Glen worked so hard to make sure his wife and children were well taken care of. Glen was the best daddy who will be truly missed.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. a Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the home of his son, 1446 Old Smithfield Road, Goldsboro. A service to celebrate Glen’s life will be held on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel with Rev. Doug Radford officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
