Alvin Ray Snider, 66, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family.

Ray was born in Pitt County on January 4, 1955 to the late Roy James Snider and Sarah Marie Colville Snider. He retired as a substance abuse counselor with the DART Cherry program in Goldsboro. Ray was a member of Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church.

Ray was a true sportsman, most comfortable outdoors, on the water or in the woods. He loved to fish and taking care of his animals. You could always find Ray at the Old Crawford Country Store enjoying the opportunity to catch up with friends.

The family will conduct a memorial service to celebrate Ray’s life at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.

Ray is survived by his daughter, Lindsey Snider and fiancée, Brandon Whichard; sisters, Reita Radford and Roschelle Anderson; grandchildren, Sabian Snider, Mariah Beach, Mackenzie Beach, Willow Snider, Maleah Beach and Michelle Beach; and several nieces and nephews he loved very much.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Travis Snider; and brother, Ron Snider.
