Just before 10 PM on Friday, the Goldsboro Police Department responded to a report of a person shot on the 900 block of Atlantic Ave. Officers arrived and located an unresponsive subject. EMS responded and confirmed the victim, 34-year-old Marcus D. Flow of Mount Olive, was deceased. The Criminal Investigations Division and Crime Scene Unit responded to the scene.

The investigation determined that Flow was shot by 43-year-old James G. Hooker of Goldsboro during an altercation between the two. Hooker came to the police department where he was taken into custody without incident. He has been charged with Voluntary Manslaughter. Hooker was given a $50,000 secured bond as a condition of release. He was left in the custody of Wayne County Jail officials.
