June 20, 2021, 74, Kenly –

Elton Thurman Martin, 74, of Kenly, passed away on Sunday, June 20, 2021 at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Smithfield surrounded by his family. Elton was born in Wayne County on June 20, 1947 to the late Thurman George Martin and Mildred Capps Martin Benson.

In addition to his parents, Elton is preceded in death by his three sisters, Louise M. Thorpe, Sherill M. Rosiek, and Marilyn M. Jones.

Elton is survived by his significant other, Polly Thompson; daughter, Kelli M. Brewer; sisters, Janice M. Turner and Carol M. Holloman and husband Robert; and grandsons, Matthew Brewer and Andrew Brewer.

Elton proudly served his country honorable and with dedication in the US Navy. He was an avid animal lover, especially his chickens. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends the most. He will be surly missed but precious memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who know and loved him.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Casey Funeral Home and Cremations Chapel with Reverend Jasper Renfrow officiating. A visitation will be held on hour prior to the service from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Casey Funeral Home and Cremations Chapel located at 105 E. First Street, Princeton, N.C. 27569.
