June 22, 2021, 85, Goldsboro –

Harold D. Newcomb, 85 years of age surrendered his earthly body to Jesus Christ on June 22, 2021. Harold was married to Clara Potts for 61 years. While their marriage was not blessed with a family of their own, a large adoption family of great nephews, nieces and his immediate family always found the way to their home……a place for food, joy, love and care. Harold and Clara were known by many as the “Rest and Vacation Spot” for both families.

Harold was the son of the late Ruffie and Gladys Newcomb of the Dudley community. He was one of seven children and exceeded lives of all except one, Alice N. Myers of Goldsboro. He was known as an expert “Chef” of food for all who came. He developed and serviced a “well drilling” business for many years until his retirement. Harold and Clara served many hours of labor when the people were in the process of building the new sanctuary for Emmaus Baptist Church.

Services to honor Harold will be held at the Emmaus Baptist Church Cemetery on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Jim Willougby officiating. A time of visitation will be held immediately following the graveside in the church fellowship hall.
