Donnie Sherrill Baker, 53, of Princeton, passed away on Thursday, June 24, 2021 at UNC Johnston Health in Clayton surrounded by his family. He was born in Johnston County on May 11, 1968 to Mary Wiggs Pleasants (Tim) and the late Sherwood Ray Baker.

In addition to his mother, Donnie is survived by his loving wife Alma Overfield Baker; sons, Joseph Baker and James Baker; daughter, Brittany Baker; granddaughter, Scarlett Baker; sisters, Brandi Baker (Jack Bickel) and Emily Pleasants; brothers, Michael Baker (Michelle) and Lance Pleasants; and numerous friends who were like family.

Donnie was a member of the Christian Motorcycle Group and enjoyed riding his motorcycle down the country back roads. In his spare time, he also enjoyed riding around on his tractor. Most importantly, he loved spending time with his family and friends especially his granddaughter Scarlett who he adored. He will be surely missed but precious memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who know and loved him.

A visitation will be held from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm on Thursday, July 1, 2021 at Bizzell Grove Pentecostal Church located at 4700 Bizzell Grove Church Road in Princeton.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, July 1, 2021 at Bizzell Grove Pentecostal Church located at 4700 Bizzell Grove Church Road in Princeton with Pastor Phillip Bland and Pastor Noble Overfield, Jr. officiating. Burial will be private at the Baker Family Cemetery.
