Every week, Saluting Seymour and SoundScope highlight an airman serving at the Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in Goldsboro.
Tech. Sgt. Jonathan Brown from the 4th Equipment Maintenance Squadron
Brown has been in the Air Force for ten years. His hometown is Beaumont, Texas. Brown is a Metals Technology Craftsman by trade, but he is currently a Unit Deployment Manager for the 4th Equipment Maintenance Squadron. He ensures airmen are ready to head overseas. That includes taking care of medical issues, training, and making sure families at home will be okay during their loved one’s deployment. Brown says COVID-19 has complicated the process for sending airmen abroad. After ten years in the Air Force, Brown has been stationed quite a few places, including Japan, Texas, and South Korea. He says he loved his time in other countries, but he is enjoying his time in Goldsboro. During his free time, Brown likes to head to the beach, visit Raleigh or eat out at the local restaurants. Brown says there are many benefits to an Air Force career, including learning life skills like investing and time-management. He’s also fond of his service since he met his wife in the Air Force.
