The storm rages on and Elsa likely won’t let it go until this evening. The remnants of Tropical Storm Elsa are crossing Central North Carolina today bringing the chance for some heavy rain, windy conditions and even a possible tornado. The National Weather Service says 2 – 3 inches of rain are expected with some areas receiving even higher amounts. The highest rainfall totals are expected west of Goldsboro. An isolated tornado or two, and gusty winds between 30 and 40 mph, will also be possible across the region. Wayne County is under a Flash Flood Watch until this evening. A Tropical Storm Warning is in effect just to the east and includes Greene, Duplin and Lenoir counties.
