August 18, 2021, 83 & 80, Virginia –
Walter Brantley Sauls, age 83, and his wife, Peggy Ann Davis Sauls, age 80, passed away together on Wednesday at St. Francis Medical Center in Midlothian, VA. They were both born in Wayne County. He was the son of the late Walter Sauls and Chellie Evans Sauls and she was the daughter of the late, Frank Davis and Rachel Jones Davis Smith. For many years he was a route salesman with Frito Lay, while Peggy stayed at home, taking care of her family. They were both very involved in their church, Shiloh Pentecostal Holiness Church., always there when the church needed them.
A service to celebrate their lives will be held Saturday, August 28th, at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Thomas officiating. A committal service will follow at Wayne Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm at the funeral home.
They are survived by their sons, Walter Sauls, Dwayne Sauls, and Michael Sauls; their grandchildren, Meghan Sauls and Matthew Sauls; Walter is also survived by his brother, Floyd Sauls and his wife, Susan; and sisters, Winnie Lee Howell and Grace Edwards; he was preceded in death by siblings, Marvin Sauls and Dorothy Byrd; Peggy is also survived by her brother, Charles Davis and his wife, Carolyn; they also had numerous nieces and nephews.
