The local Boy Scouts council will honor a community leader. The Tuscarora Council of the Boy Scouts of America will present the Distinguished Citizen Award to George Whitfield during a banquet at Walnut Creek Country Club on Thursday, October 21st. The reception starts at 6:15 PM and the dinner is set for 7 PM. The Distinguished Citizen Award celebrates Whitfield’s lifelong contributions to his community and state.
