On September 1st, officers with the Goldsboro Police Department responded to the Spence Avenue Walmart. While reviewing previous store security video footage, Walmart’s Loss Prevention team reported that they observed a male customer taking cell phone images underneath the dress of a female customer. It appeared that the female was unaware that she was being photographed. This incident had taken place on August 30th. The male customer came back to the store the next day, and Loss Prevention contacted the Goldsboro Police Department to identify him.
Officers made contact with the subject and identified him as 46-year-old Tyrus Jermaine Catoe of La Grange. Officers completed an incident report and forwarded it to the Criminal Investigations Division and an investigation was initiated.
On Thursday, as a result of the investigation, a warrant was secured on Catoe for one count of Felony Secret Peeping. Catoe turned himself in to investigators on Friday. Deputies with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office Warrant Division transported Catoe to the Wayne County Magistrate’s Office, where he was served with his warrant. Mr. Catoe received a $5,000 secured bond.
