The Wayne County Public Library has been awarded a $15,000 ARP Humanities Project Support Grant from the North Carolina Humanities Council. This project will support the work of the library’s Local History department. Through the use of these funds, the library will expand its virtual exhibits, programming, and staff hours. Additionally, grant funds will allow for the creation of oral history outreach kits.
Library Assistant Director, Maegen Wilson, said, “The Library is pleased to have received this North Carolina Humanities Council grant. Our Local History department works diligently to unearth the rich history of Wayne County and we look forward to continuing and expanding those efforts.”
Wayne County Public Library received an American Rescue Plan Humanities Grant from the North Carolina Humanities Council, www.nchumanities.org. Funding for this grant was provided by the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) as part of the American Rescue Plan Act economic stabilization plan.
