Half of Wayne County has now received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Tuesday’s figures from the N.C. Department of Health and Human Services show 61,364 people have received at least one vaccine dose, representing 50% of the county’s population. 53,309 people have been fully vaccinated, which is just 43% of Wayne County’s population.
The number of new COVID-19 cases being confirmed in Wayne County is slowly trending down, with 693 new cases reported in the last 14 days. Wayne County has now recorded 288 coronavirus-related deaths since the pandemic began.
