Wayne Country Day continued its strong season on the golf course by recently winning the Wayne County Championship.
During a nine-hole at Goldsboro Municipal Golf Course, Ella Hannant shot a team-low 33. Karsyn Roberts carded a 35, Anna Reimers recorded a nine-hole total of 39, while Madalyn Brown shot a 60.
C.B. Aycock finished in second place with Adrian Floars recording a 42. Teammates Donnie Price and Taylor Tyndall shot 52 and 59, respectively.
Brianna Verme paced Wayne Christian with a 49, followed by Caroline Jones with a 52. Hannaleigh Stevens (57) and Eleanor Woodard (62) completed the Eagles’ scoring.
Goldsboro’s Erin Barnett and Tara Burnham finished with a 51 and 49, respectively. Lexi Lewis shot a 41 to lead Rosewood, followed by Emily Parrish (60) and Katie Jensen (63).
Caroline Jones posted a 62, while teammate Emily Webster shot a nine-hole round of 62.
Hannant, Roberts, Reimers, Brown, Floars, Lewis, Verme, Wayne Christian’s Caroline Jones, Barnett and Southern Wayne’s Caroline Jones were all named to the all-county team.
