Recent cases of the coronavirus continue to slowly decline in Wayne County. The N.C. Department of Health and Human Services reports 386 newly confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Wayne County over the past 14 days. Wayne County has recorded 297 coronavirus-related deaths since the pandemic began.
Nearly 63,000 people have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine in Wayne County. Wednesday’s figures from the N.C. Department of Health and Human Services show 62,856 people have received at least one dose of the vaccine, representing 51% of the county’s population. 55,338 people have been fully vaccinated against the coronavirus, representing 45% of Wayne County’s population.
