(GDN) — It’s slow but steady as Wayne County continues to get residents inoculated against the coronavirus.
According to the N.C. Department of Health and Human Services, 222 confirmed cases of COVID-19 were reported in Wayne County over the past two weeks. Wayne County has recorded 305 coronavirus-related deaths since the pandemic began.
Wednesday’s figures from the N.C. Department of Health and Human Services show 64,524 people have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine in Wayne County, which represents 52% of the county’s population. 58,200 people have been fully vaccinated, which is 47% of the population of Wayne County.
The COVID-19 vaccine and booster shots remain available through the Wayne County Health Department. Children 5-11 can now receive the Pfizer vaccine through the Wayne County Health Department. Visit WayneGov.com/vaccine to schedule a vaccination appointment.
