(GDN) — People gathered at the Veterans Memorial across from the Wayne County Courthouse for a Veterans Day Service and wreath laying Thursday afternoon. Wayne County Veterans and Patriots Coalition CEO Bill Graham welcomed the guests. Sandra Scronce gave the invocation followed by the Pledge of Allegiance by David Benedict
assisted by Rosewood High School JROTC Color Guard. Shirley Proctor sang The Star Spangled Banner, followed by remarks from Katherine Wolfe who talked about the David Williams Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Lisa Buchtmann and Betty Duncan laid the wreath at the ceremony. A new wreath was also placed on the doughboy monument at the courthouse.
