Harvey Stuart Carter passed away Friday, November 26, 2021 in Burlington. He was 73.
Mr. Carter was a native of the Rones Chapel community near Mount Olive. After graduation from North Duplin High School, he served in the United States Navy. His working career was that of textiles manufacturing with most of his employment being with Culp Mfg.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Atlas Harvey Carter and Beatrice Williamson Carter; a sister and brother-in-law, Elinor C. and Norwood Ezzell; and an infant brother, Calvin Carter.
Those who survive him include a daughter, Tracy C. Stancil and husband, Stephen, of Little River, SC; a son, Jason S. Carter and wife, Cindy, of Siler City; their mother, Rebecca Todd Carter of Graham; three grandchlidren, Max Stancil, Elinor Stancil, and Breanna Burkett and husband, John; a great-grandchild, Kinsley Burkett; several nieces, a nephew, and their families.
A gathering to honor the memory of Stuart Carter will be Saturday, December 11, at 1 p.m. at the Carter Family Cemetery (679 Norwood Ezzell Road, Mount Olive, NC) after which his remains will be laid to rest with those of his departed loved ones.
