(GDN) — Wayne County’s new cases of coronavirus are slowly increasing. This follows a trend seen across North Carolina in recent days.
According to the N.C. Department of Health and Human Services, 302 confirmed cases of COVID-19 were reported in Wayne County over the past two weeks. Wayne County has recorded 317 coronavirus-related deaths since the pandemic began.
Thursday’s figures from the N.C. Department of Health and Human Services show 66,386 people have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine in Wayne County, which represents 54% of the county’s population. 59,951 people have been fully vaccinated, which is 49% of the population of Wayne County.
The COVID-19 vaccine and booster shots remain available through the Wayne County Health Department. Children 5-11 can now receive the Pfizer vaccine through the Wayne County Health Department. Visit WayneGov.com/vaccine to schedule a vaccination appointment.
