Wayne Country Day had no problems taking care of business against Trinity Academy of Raleigh on Thursday evening.
Jada Vanderhorst scored game-high 19 points for the Chargers, who defeated Trinity Academy 57-22 to win their third game in a row.
The Chargers wasted little time in getting off to a hot start
Kyrah Davis scored the game’s first seven points and ignited a run 21-0 run. The Tigers had no answers and trailed 39-9 at the break.
In the second half, the Chargers continued to dominate the Tigers, and with 2:33 left in the third quarter, Trinity Smith’s layup gave the Chargers a 53-13 lead, which started the running clock.
Ja’Kea Brunson scored 16 points, Davis finished with 11 points, and Kimora Cox contributed five points.
Wayne Country Day (13-6 overall) takes on Seventy-First (9-4) on Saturday.
