(GDN) — Don’t let your guard down yet.
The winter storm is still expected to hit Wayne County and Eastern Carolina this evening.
The latest forecast from the National Weather Service shows a slight increase in the anticipated accumulation from the winter storm.
In Wayne County, a mix of wintry precipitation may begin after 5 PM, and will switch to all snow after 11 PM.
Accumulations of 3-5 inches of snow are now possible.
A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect for Wayne County until 7 AM on Saturday.
Drivers who must travel should plan on slippery road conditions, especially overnight into Saturday morning.
