(GDN) — The Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents of the latest phone scam.  According to the sheriff’s office, multiple people have received a phone call from 252-468-0204.  The caller identifies themselves as being with the Kinston Professional Firefighters Association or the Lenoir County Volunteer Firemens Association.  The person asks for credit card numbers and for a donation over the phone.  The Lenoir County Sheriff warns this is a scam, and local groups would never do this type of soliciting work.  Do not give out bank, credit card or social security number to unknown callers.
