(GDN) — Kinston Police say they’ve made an arrest in another cold case. According to the Kinston Police Department, 32-year-old Carlos Fields was arrested by members of the U.S. Marshals Office on Tuesday in Hookerton. A warrant had been obtained for Fields’ arrest for 2013 murder of James Franklin.
On November 5th, 2013, Franklin and two others were parked in a vehicle on E. Capitola Avenue when two unknown subjects opened fire on the vehicle. All three occupants were struck, and Franklin died at the scene.
Fields has been jailed without bond.
The Kinston P.D. says this homicide case remains under investigation.
