Jennifer Lee Oates, resident of the Suttontown area of Sampson County near Faison, passed away late Thursday evening, March 3, 2022, while at Duke University Medical Center. She was 39 years of age.
Jennifer graduated from Hobbton High School with the class of 2001. She had been employed as a manager with Ambassador, a temporary staffing agency.
She is survived by her son, her best friend, and her eyeball, Jeffrey Mason Hunter of the home; her parents, Sam and Rita Knox Oates of Faison; a brother and sister-in-law, Derek and Bethany Oates of Clinton; a nephew, Logan Oates, and a niece, Abigail Oates, both of Clinton; her maternal grandparents, Charles and Margie Knox of Goldsboro; and her paternal grandmother, Jean Oates of Faison.
Paternal grandfather, Sam Radcliff, preceded Jennifer in death.
Jennifer’s life will be remembered in a service to be held Friday, March 11, at 6 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive. Visitation will follow the service. At other times, friends and family may call at the home of Mrs. Jean Oates, 9080 Suttontown Road, Faison. Burial will be in the Oates Family Cemetery on Saturday, March 12, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, and due to the many months of Jennifer’s illness, contributions to the family to help defray final expenses would be appreciated.
