(GDN) – The “Sons of Mystro” performed at the Paramount Theatre on Friday night in Goldsboro. The duo used their violins to interpret reggae classics, american pop songs and their own creations accompanied by a DJ and a drummer.
The brothers were born in Florida to a Jamaican father and Barbadian mother. 23-year-old Malcolm and 20-year-old Umoja learned to play violin through Florida’s public school system. They both attended Dillard High School for the Performing Arts. They won the Emerging Artist award at IRAWMA (International Reggae and World Music Awards). They just released their debut recording, “Reggae Strings.”
