(GDN) – Wayne County EMS and the Mar-Mac Fire Department were dispatched to the scene of a two-vehicle accident involving a car and truck on Genoa Road and 117 Bypass. Firefighters had to use their extraction tools and remove both doors from the car to free the female driver trapped inside.

Meanwhile, EMS workers assisted the driver of the truck. The North Carolina Highway Patrol blocked off all traffic to a short section of the area. Police say charges are pending due to the outcome of the Highway Patrol investigation.
