Wayne County Public Schools (WCPS) will soon hold two Job Fairs for multiple positions. The first Job Fair will be held in the Seminar Room of the WCPS Professional Development & Family Engagement Center – located at 415 S. Virginia Street in Goldsboro – on Tuesday, June 14, from 10 AM until 1 PM. The second Job Fair will be held in the Seminar Room of the WCPS Professional Development & Family Engagement Center on Tuesday, July 12 from 2 PM until 5 PM.
“We encourage qualified applicants with an interest or desire to work in our schools to attend one of these two job fair events,” states Dr. Yvette Smith Mason, Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources & Professional Development. “We will have HR and departmental representatives on hand to answer questions about qualifications, salaries, and benefits. We will also walk prospective employees through the application process.”
WCPS offers competitive salaries. Effective July 1, 2022, the starting pay for the classified positions will increase to $15.00. The current openings with this starting salary rate, include:
- Bus drivers
- Cafeteria staff
- Plumber
- Painter
- Boiler Mechanic
- Grounds Crew
- Instructional Assistants
- Custodians
- Roofer
In addition to part-time and full-time employees, the district HR Department is looking for substitute teachers. The rate of pay effective July 1, 2022 for a certified substitute with a teaching license is $18.07 per hour. A non-certified substitute without a teaching license is $15.00 per hour.
